Fablelistik Editions, the fine press of Macmillan Publishers, launched last October, has announced the publication of their fifth book. The first was a classic, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, reminiscent of the fine press books issued by the Limited Editions Club almost a century ago. However, the Fablelistik titles have since turned to more contemporary works. They combine the fine press techniques of over a century ago with more recent titles. This latest one is Rebecca Yarros' Fourth Wing. It broke into the public eye two years ago and quickly reached the top of the bestsellers list.

Fantasy novels, once the domain of younger readers, are even more popular with adults today. The real world has become such a mess that even adults occasionally need to escape. Ms. Yarrow has created a fantastic story of deadly battles in a time and place with little resemblance to the one in which we live. You will not mistake this for historical fiction, but it is quite exciting. Add a love interest and a great writer who can make the unreal seem real and you have a bestseller on your hands. It sold over two million copies in its first week and shot up to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. The only thing missing was a cover and binding to match. Now it has them.

Fablelistik Editions Director Taylor Armstrong said, “Fourth Wing is a global phenomenon that's captured the hearts of millions. We’re thrilled to bring this world to life through these special editions—crafted by booklovers, for booklovers—with incredible detail that celebrates just how much this book means to so many.”

Fourth Wing comes in four unique editions, lettered, numbered, and two Collector Editions, one each named for major characters Violet and Xaden. Fablelistik explains, “Each is crafted with premium materials, exclusive artwork, specialty finishes, and custom designs. The Lettered and Numbered Editions are truly a work of art—hand-bound by designer bookbinders, these editions are designed to evoke the elaborate world of this series. All editions are illustrated throughout and include four-color printed interiors, exclusive custom fonts and dragon-wrapped drop caps. The editions also feature reimagined maps of the Continent and Basgiath War College, and tipped in signature pages signed by Rebecca Yarros and all edition-specific contributing artists and collaborators.”

As the cover photos above show (click the images to enlarge), these are very special editions. If you appreciate fine books, you will be pleased by adding them to your collection.
