About Us The Edward Gorey Charitable Trust, dedicated to fostering appreciation for the unique visual and literary artistry of the inimitable Edward Gorey, is thrilled to announce the second installment of its annual cocktail soirée set within the enchanting confines of the Strand Bookstore's Rare Book Room. The party and fundraiser will take place on July 31st, 2024 from 6:30pm until 9:30pm. Please join us for an evening of custom-made drinks, conversation, and a chance to view original art, manuscripts, and rare printed materials up close, all in honor of Edward Goreys indelible mark on the world. Come to meet and mingle with fellow Gorey enthusiasts, representatives of the Trust, who will be available to discuss recent work at the organization, and a special guest curator, who will be sharing highlights from their noted Gorey collection. If you, too, are a collector of Edward Goreys work novice or veteran you will have an opportunity to bid at a silent auction featuring original drawings and prints, limited edition books, and unusual ephemera. Proceeds from both tickets and the auction will support the Trust's efforts to preserve Edward Gorey's creative legacy and to support the animal welfare organizations to which he was devoted such as the Animal Rescue League of Boston, The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, and Bat Conservation International. . Spots are limited! Secure yours today and become part of this extraordinary event. "Early Bird" tickets are available until June 30th after which "Night Owl" tickets will be available at $175.
