Source Title Adventures in Americana 1492 - 1897
Description Herschel V. Jones of Minneapolis, Minnesota collected quickly, amassing an extraordinary collection of more than 1,700 important volumes in the Americana field in a half dozen years. It was still possible then. The first two volumes, which are currently in the AED, include careful descriptions and images of 300 items selected from the entire collection. This is not an auction catalogue. Rather it is a monument to one collector's ambition to amass an extarodinary collection and to memorialize it with the publication of an extraordinary "collector's catalogue" that will remain a lasting reference to a collector's ambition.
