Source Title
Description For about a decade, the Heritage Map Museum housed the 15th-19th century map collection of James E. Hess where visitors regularly came to learn about the world and how it once was viewed. Its location was in Lititz, Pennsylvania, near Lancaster. The museum sported a shop for old and facsimile maps, and regularly held auctions from 1997 to the early 2000s. Their specialties included maps and atlases from the world & Western Hemisphere, Americas, Atlantic & Islands, Caribbean & West Indies, Mexico & Central America and South America.

In 2003, the main museum was closed and the auctions ceased, but Hess continued to make his collection available through a small gallery on an appointment basis.
